Remix Therapeutics has tapped Michael Landsittel, former CFO of Blueprint Medicines, for its board. The move comes as the company eyes a public listing and pushes its RNA drug pipeline forward.

Michael Landsittel is now on the board at Remix Therapeutics. The company brought him in as it ramps up for a possible IPO and pushes its RNA-targeted drugs through development.

Landsittel is no stranger to big biotech moves. At Blueprint Medicines, he helped raise about $4 billion. He guided the company from early-stage biotech to a commercial player. He also played a key part in Blueprint’s $9.1 billion sale to Sanofi in 2025. That deal showed his skill with high-stakes deals and fast company growth.

Remix describes itself as a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing oral small molecules to modulate RNA processing, leveraging its REMaster platform that integrates data analytics, biomolecular methods, and chemistry.

Strategic experience for a turning point

Remix did not just add another name to its board. It brought in a financial strategist with over 20 years in biotech finance and corporate development. The company’s press release calls out Landsittel’s expertise in strategic finance, business development, investor relations, and leadership. He has held roles at Algeta, Infinity Pharmaceuticals, and Genzyme. That adds weight to his resume.

Landsittel also sits on the board at Damora Therapeutics. The timing is clear. Remix is moving its RNA platform and pipeline forward. Its lead drug, REM-422, is now in clinical trials for adenoid cystic carcinoma, acute myeloid leukemia, and high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome. According to a recent GlobeNewswire announcement, REM-422 is being tested in two programs: the ARIA Phase 1/2 study for adenoid cystic carcinoma, and a separate Phase 1 study for acute myeloid leukemia and high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome.

Boardroom shakeup as biotech momentum builds

Pete Smith, CEO and co-founder, says Landsittel’s strategic view and industry know-how are key for Remix’s next steps. Smith points to Landsittel’s experience building and scaling biotech firms. That experience will help Remix get ready for life as a public company. The move fits a wider trend. Biotech companies are stacking their boards with seasoned leaders before big financial moves.

Other companies are making similar plays. Recent deals reported earlier show the race to lock in experienced leadership as firms near major turning points.

As of October 6, 2026, there is no confirmation that Remix Therapeutics has filed for an IPO, registered an S-1 form with the SEC, set a price range, or scheduled a listing date; the company’s statements about preparing for public company status remain an intention rather than a confirmed IPO process.

Remix’s board pick sends a message. The company is not staying small in RNA therapeutics. By bringing in a leader who has managed both rapid growth and billion-dollar exits, Remix is showing it is ready for the public markets. In biotech, execution matters. This move could shape the company’s next chapter.
