Sponsored Content Policy

What This Means Today

GenoMethods currently uses Google AdSense for third-party display advertising. That advertising is separate from independent editorial work and should not be confused with sponsored editorial content.

Payment does not provide access to favorable editorial conclusions, higher rankings, positive reviews, suppression of accurate reporting or control over independent coverage.

If Sponsored Content Is Introduced

Any future sponsored or partner material should be clearly identifiable before a reader has to infer that a commercial relationship exists. The purpose of labeling would be to prevent commercial material from being mistaken for independent reporting.

Editorial Boundaries

If sponsored content is introduced later, a commercial relationship should not provide the sponsor with control over unrelated independent GenoMethods editorial coverage. Commercial participation in one area should not create special protection elsewhere.

A sponsor should not be entitled to:

• change independent editorial conclusions;
• suppress accurate reporting;
• control factual corrections;
• require favorable treatment elsewhere on the site;
• purchase favorable rankings or reviews.

Current Sponsored Topics

GenoMethods does not currently maintain an active list of accepted sponsored-content topics because sponsored articles are not currently offered. No topic should be interpreted as commercially available merely because GenoMethods covers it editorially.

Rankings and Reviews

Any future commercial relationship would not entitle a sponsor to a favorable review, higher score or higher editorial ranking. Rankings and reviews remain editorial products whose conclusions depend on the applicable evidence and methodology.

Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position.
