A massive NIH-backed project has charted the molecular and cellular makeup of Alzheimer’s and related brain diseases at single cell detail, opening new paths for diagnosis and therapy.

Human single-cell reference atlas sits at the center of Human Cell Atlas, which is used as a human single-cell reference-atlas initiative across biotechnology data workflows. Its information layer joins cell type mapping across tissues, single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial cell mapping, allowing reference cell types to be examined within the same curated or structured resource. The Human Cell Atlas is an ongoing reference-atlas effort spanning human tissues and modalities, whereas Tabula Muris is a defined mouse single-cell atlas dataset.
