The appointment took effect Oct. 12, two days before Datavault AI announced it. NYIAX Inc. designated Tirman after Datavault AI completed its acquisition of the company. Tirman had previously served on NYIAX’s board, according to Datavault AI’s announcement.
Datavault AI Inc. trades on Nasdaq under the ticker DVLT. The company says it is evaluating ways to strengthen its capital structure, and that Tirman’s background will add financial and operational expertise as it expands.
Tirman has more than 35 years of international experience in investment management and capital strategy. His work has also covered corporate transformation and value creation. He has handled corporate restructuring and acquisitions, as well as public listings and cross-border transactions.
He leads Slovenia-based sporting goods manufacturer Elan d.o.o. After institutional investors acquired the company in 2015, Tirman oversaw its restructuring and operational transformation. A year later, he founded Abri Capital Ltd., a private family-office investment firm with global investments across asset classes and securities.
Earlier, Tirman co-founded London-based Rhodium Capital Management Ltd., focused on European and CEEMEA credit markets. He served as president of Talisman Capital from 1997 to 2012. From 2009 to 2014, he taught Advanced Corporate Finance as a part-time adjunct professor at HEC Lausanne.
He earned an MBA in corporate accounting from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in economics from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
The NYIAX designation ties the board change to Datavault AI’s acquisition and the integration of the acquired company. A separate biotech board appointment during public-listing preparations was reported at Remix Therapeutics. The companies and their circumstances are distinct.
