Biological Foundation Models
1 article
Large pretrained models that learn reusable representations across biological data form the core of Biological Foundation Models. The section follows genomic, protein, single-cell and multimodal models designed to transfer across tasks rather than solve one narrow prediction problem. Scale alone is not enough: editorial attention goes to training data, biological generalization, benchmark quality and experimental usefulness, distinguishing these systems from task-specific drug-discovery models or protein-only language models.
